About the position

The Lead Portfolio Manager is responsible for the coordinated management of multiple related projects aimed at achieving strategic business and organizational objectives. This role involves overseeing forecasting and planning activities for new projects, ensuring alignment with business priorities, and managing demand throughout the project lifecycle. The position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams and effective communication with stakeholders to evaluate project value, risk, and strategic alignment. This is a hybrid role, requiring a minimum of 10 days per month in the office.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure regular business alignment and prioritization of demand with resource and budgetary capacity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Periodically review the status of projects and make adjustments as necessary.
  • Establish, maintain, and provide management reporting using appropriate metrics.
  • Ensure effective communication with project sponsors, project managers, functional and resource managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Engage key stakeholders to evaluate proposed and ongoing projects based on value, risk, effort, cost, and strategic alignment.
  • Provide formal training and support for project and portfolio management.
  • Develop and maintain governance tools, templates, guidelines, procedures, and processes.
  • Lead with influence and expertise.
  • Actively contribute to division or department leadership team.
  • Communicate and support organization mission, vision, values, policies, and practices.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support, or service.
  • Extensive experience with project/program and portfolio management tools, methods, and practices.
  • Demonstrated experience effectively communicating with senior leaders.
  • Demonstrated experience with budget, metrics, and other operational analyses.
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of operational and strategic planning.
