About the position

As a Lead Electronic Hardware Engineer, you will be responsible for designing innovative power supply products for various applications including supercomputing, industrial, telecommunications, and datacenter environments. This role involves leading the product development process from concept to high-volume production, ensuring that customer requirements are met and that products are optimized for efficiency, density, and cost. You will also mentor junior engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive projects to completion.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate customer requirements and select appropriate topologies for AC/DC and DC/DC applications.
  • Conduct design analysis including modeling, simulation, and control loops.
  • Optimize designs with a focus on efficiency, density, and cost.
  • Design and optimize magnetics.
  • Create schematics, bills of material, and PCB layouts.
  • Develop high-density PCB layouts with noise and EMI mitigation.
  • Conduct design reviews and follow the New Product Introduction (NPI) process.
  • Perform hands-on lab work to build and debug prototypes.
  • Conduct electrical characterization, design validation, and qualification.
  • Introduce products into high-volume production.
  • Provide technical support for production and field product issues.
  • Lead projects and collaborate in cross-functional teams.
  • Prepare invention disclosures to protect intellectual property.
  • Mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering / Power Electronics or equivalent from an accredited university or college.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional engineering design experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering / Power Electronics preferred.
  • Experience with new product definition designing AC/DC power supplies, test and analysis tools, and systems.
  • Experience with SiC and GaN devices-based power converter design.
  • High frequency magnetics design knowledge.
  • Strong circuit simulation experience (PLECS/ PSPICE/ SIMPLIS/ SIMetrix).
  • Hands-on experience related to EMC of switch mode power supplies.
  • Knowledge of IPC 9592B - Requirements for Power Conversion Devices for the Computer and Telecommunications Industries.
