About the position
The Lead Power Systems Engineer will mentor and collaborate with a team of engineers to analyze and evaluate various aspects of power systems, including real-time stability, market operations, and compliance with operating standards. This role involves calculating, modeling, and implementing system changes to support both operational needs and long-term regional transmission expansion plans.
Responsibilities
- Mentor and train a team of engineers in power systems analysis.
- Study and analyze real-time stability and market operations flows.
- Evaluate transmission outages and power systems network performance.
- Ensure compliance with internal and regulated operating standards for regional transmission operations.
- Calculate and model system changes for operations and long-term planning.
- Implement changes as part of the Regional Transmission Expansion plan.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in ISO reliability testing methodologies.
- Experience in preparing operations planning cases.
- Participation in system inertia evaluation and voltage limits/control studies.
- Proficiency in TSAT, VSAT, and PSS/E.
