About the position

Micron Technology is seeking a Lead Principal Engineer for Wet Etch Advanced DRAM Process Development to join our innovative and diverse team at our global R&D headquarters in Boise, ID. This role is pivotal in transforming how the world utilizes information, as we strive to enrich life for all through our cutting-edge memory and storage solutions. As a leader in the semiconductor industry, Micron has a rich history of nearly 45 years and is the only U.S.-based DRAM manufacturer, with a portfolio that includes foundational DRAM, NAND, and NOR Flash memory, as well as SSDs and other memory-based systems. In this position, you will be part of a revolutionary Advanced DRAM research and development wet etch team, where you will have ample opportunities for innovation and collaboration. You will work closely with process integration and other areas such as Dry Etch, Metals, CVD, Diffusion, Lithography, and CMP. Your responsibilities will include owning the process roadmap to meet program and yield goals while working with state-of-the-art wet etch tooling. You will set plans to meet process requirements on tech-node schedules, influence budgeting decisions, and engage with suppliers to ensure technology acceleration projects are on schedule. As a Lead Engineer, you will also establish and demonstrate leadership fundamentals, focusing on attracting and retaining top technology talent. You will conduct regular meetings with team members, adapt your communication style to individual needs, and provide real-time feedback on performance and technical development. Your role will be crucial in fostering a culture of recognition and engagement within the team, ensuring that team members have opportunities for growth and development.

Responsibilities

  • Set plans to meet process requirements on tech-node schedules.
  • Lead meeting discussions and represent the section in meetings.
  • Influence budgeting decisions for work-unit programs.
  • Ensure work unit milestones and goals are achieved.
  • Participate in the roadmap process as a technology Subject Matter Expert (SME).
  • Engage and develop relationships with suppliers to ensure technology acceleration projects are on schedule.
  • Make decisions that impact the achievement of technical solutions and product objectives.
  • Work closely with Tech Dev cross-functional groups.
  • Attract and retain the best technology employees in the world.
  • Conduct effective performance conversations and career discussions with team members.

Requirements

  • 7 years of experience in physics, chemistry, chemical engineering, material science, or an equivalent field.
  • MS/PhD Degree in a related field is required.
  • Research experience during PhD and 2 years of relevant industry experience, or a master's degree with 5 years of relevant industry experience, or a bachelor's degree with 7 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Industry experience must be in semiconductor process development, preferably in a R&D environment.
  • Experience in DRAM or Memory is preferred.
