About the position

The Lead Printing Press Operator at Northwest Offset Printing is responsible for leading press crews to achieve precision in the configuration of paper, plates, ink, and presses to meet daily production targets. This role emphasizes the mastery of press machinery and the entire printing process to ensure high-quality output across all printed publications. The position is full-time and located in Spokane Valley, WA, with relocation assistance available.

Responsibilities

• Lead press crews in achieving precision configuration of paper, plate, ink, and press to meet daily production targets.
• Master operation of all press machinery including pallet jacks, forklifts, and various printing equipment.
• Enter information into a shop floor data collection system and monitor registration using a loupe.
• Use a conductivity meter to check water balance and ink densitometers to verify color.
• Create impositions for color presets and master computerized ink settings throughout press runs.
• Demonstrate mastery of the entire printing process for optimum print quality results.
• Motivate and cooperate with team members to accomplish shift goals.
• Follow all companywide and department-specific safety protocols.

Requirements

• AA degree in a related field or proven mechanical abilities required.
• Four or more years' experience in the commercial printing trade preferred.
• Excellent mechanical aptitude and advanced experience in commercial printing.
• Calm temperament and proven collaborative communication skills.
• Basic computer skills in spreadsheet and word processing preferred.
