The metrology process engineer will be responsible for the creation and execution of inspection processes for complex additive geometries. This individual will successfully design and implement production inspection programs from point cloud data (e.g. 3D scanning, CT, and CMM data) using various industry standard softwares (e.g. Polyworks, PC-DMIS, etc.). They will be responsible for transitioning programs to offsite resources as well as maintaining and improving existing inspection programs. In this role, the engineer will support site metrology priorities and the creation and execution of comprehensive training plans for inspection technologies. They will help establish, incorporate, and proliferate metrology best practices and standards, and design inspection programs specifically for additive hardware. The engineer will also coordinate with design engineers and manufacturing engineers to align additive drawing requirements with NDT technologies, inspection capabilities, and process capability. The engineer will be expected to assess processes, take measurements, interpret data, and document results effectively. They will communicate project outcomes to senior leadership and lead projects intended to design, run, test, and upgrade systems and processes. Additionally, they will develop best practices, routines, and innovative solutions to improve technology and processes related to additive inspection and NDT, as well as perform risk assessments of additive print dimensioning and provide process documentation and operating instructions.
