About the position

The Lead Product Designer for the Public Affairs and Legal (PAL) Technology Team at Wells Fargo is responsible for creating rewarding user experiences for a global workforce of 226,000 employees. This role involves guiding multidisciplinary teams towards successful product outcomes by gathering user needs, ideating with partners, delivering actionable designs, and monitoring feedback for continuous improvement. The designer will lead complex initiatives, develop customer experience solutions, and influence strategic design direction while fostering collaboration and communication across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex initiatives providing product usability and support to product development teams.
  • Develop and execute customer experience solutions for online applications and websites.
  • Oversee the execution of strategic design projects influencing the company's design direction.
  • Present designs and key deliverables to peers and executive stakeholders.
  • Influence roadmaps and business decisions by providing customer experience considerations.
  • Collaborate with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals.
  • Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices, and standards.
  • Forecast and assess industry trends impacting product design alternatives.
  • Build and enhance working relationships within the design community and beyond.
  • Lead customer experience strategy for platforms and products.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Online and Digital Product Design, Information Sciences, Graphic, and Visual Arts or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of experience working with Functional Specifications and/or User Experience Flows.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to quickly navigate design tools such as Figma, Sketch, and Adobe XD.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with designing AI-enabled experiences, including Generative AI.
  • Experience conducting usability research and testing.
  • Experience in regulatory-facing environments such as finance or healthcare.
