About the position

The Lead Product Designer for Time Tools at Gusto will play a pivotal role in shaping the design direction and user experience of Gusto's time and attendance products. This senior design leader will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Engineering, and Data, to identify opportunities, define problem spaces, and set strategic roadmaps. The role encompasses the entire product development process, from research and concept development to UI refinement and feature launches, while also mentoring other designers on the team.

Responsibilities

• Define a long-term UX vision for the Time Tools product area and align it with Gusto's broader vision.
• Co-lead the definition of product strategy, roadmap, team OKRs, and project direction.
• Conduct research and analyze data to build understanding of customer needs.
• Design and ship both new and iterative projects that deliver consistent value to customers.
• Contribute to Gusto's product design leadership community by sharing skills and experiences.
• Champion the design system and platform standards, evolving them through product work.
• Mentor and coach other designers to ensure high-quality experiences.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience leading design direction across multiple teams.
• Ability to influence design and product across various product areas.
• Comfortable working with executive stakeholders and shaping business decisions.
• Experience in designing and shipping customer-facing products.
• Strong advocacy for maintaining design quality and accessibility across screen sizes.
