About the position

Gusto is seeking a senior design leader to join the Time Tools team, focusing on enhancing the product experience for small businesses. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to define product strategy, conduct user research, and lead the design process from concept to launch. The position emphasizes building a long-term UX vision and mentoring other designers while advocating for high-quality, inclusive design practices.

Responsibilities

  • Define a long-term UX vision for the Time Tools product area.
  • Co-lead the definition of product strategy, roadmap, team OKRs, and project direction.
  • Conduct research and analyze data to understand customer needs.
  • Design and ship both new and iterative projects that deliver value to customers.
  • Contribute to Gusto's product design leadership community by sharing skills and experience.
  • Champion and evolve the design system and platform standards through product work.
  • Mentor and coach other designers on the team.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience leading design direction across multiple teams.
  • Comfortable working with executive stakeholders and shaping business decisions.
  • Experience in designing and shipping customer-facing products.
  • Ability to maintain design quality and accessibility across screen sizes.
