About the position

The Lead Product Designer at Ascendion is responsible for crafting engaging and scalable device setup experiences for mobile applications. This role involves collaboration with various teams, including Product, Engineering, and Marketing, to ensure a seamless onboarding process for customers. The designer will leverage their expertise in interaction and visual design to create user-friendly features while being customer-focused and research-driven.

Responsibilities

• Understand capabilities and constraints of client device hardware and mobile OS platforms.
• Work creatively with Product and Engineering teams to deliver easy-to-understand pairing and feature onboarding steps.
• Collaborate with Content Design and Privacy teams to help customers understand their control over privacy and data sharing.
• Incorporate design assets compatible with partners' and clients' brands in collaboration with Marketing teams.
• Rapidly iterate solutions based on customer, UXR, and internal feedback.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of industry experience designing software products.
• Expert in designing for mobile OSes (iOS and Android) and understanding unique platform conventions.
• Deep experience in creating onboarding experiences for consumer-facing connected products and/or mobile apps.
• Experience working in a technical environment.
• Experience utilizing research and data to drive product strategy and decision making.
• A portfolio demonstrating a breadth of user experience, interaction, and visual design skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Strong Mobile Design (iOS/Android) skills.
• Proficiency in Product Design, Interaction Design, and Visual Design.
• Experience with User Experience Design.
• Familiarity with Figma and prototyping.
• Experience with design systems.
