About the position

Epsilon's Product Design team is at the forefront of creating exceptional user experiences across a diverse range of products. Our unique approach integrates various specialized disciplines, including UX Design, UI Design, UX Research, UX Engineering, and UX QA, ensuring that we deliver best-in-class software solutions. As a Lead Product / UX Designer, you will leverage your extensive knowledge and expertise in user research and design processes to develop innovative platforms and applications that are shaping the digital advertising landscape. In this role, you will be responsible for synthesizing user needs, business requirements, and technical constraints to create wireframes and prototypes that effectively communicate design concepts and functionality. You will apply user-centered design principles to develop interactive digital products that are not only efficient but also user-friendly. Your ability to conduct thorough user research using established methodologies will be crucial in informing design decisions and enhancing user experiences. You will actively participate in cross-functional project team meetings, advocating for the Product Design discipline while helping to define business requirements. Your expertise will also be essential in enforcing and evolving Epsilon's enterprise design system, CoreUI, while ensuring compliance with WCAG accessibility standards. Additionally, you will oversee formal usability testing and contribute to design critiques, mentoring junior designers along the way. Collaboration with other disciplines will be key to maintaining quality throughout the project development lifecycle, making your role integral to the success of our products.

Responsibilities

  • Combine user needs, business requirements, and technical constraints to build wireframes and prototypes that thoughtfully demonstrate useful, usable, and desirable design concepts and functionality.
  • Apply user-centered design principles and practices to help create efficient and user-friendly interactive digital products.
  • Conduct, document, and internalize user research using industry-accepted methodologies and documentation strategies including user personas, site maps, user flows, interviews, card sorting, competitive audits, and market research.
  • Remain up-to-speed with the latest developments in the practice / profession of design.
  • Participate in cross-functional project team meetings to help define business requirements while being a strong advocate for and voice of the Product Design team / discipline.
  • Enforce and evolve Epsilon's enterprise design system CoreUI and work within WCAG accessibility standards.
  • Independently conduct and oversee formal usability testing on projects across the broader organization.
  • Contribute to, and aid in conducting, design critiques and help mentor / coach more junior designers.
  • Partner with other disciplines, both within and outside the Product Design team, to ensure quality throughout the project development lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Six (6) or more years of experience working within (an) established UX team(s).
  • Four (4) or more years of experience designing enterprise software tools.
  • Degree in Interaction Design, Graphic Design, Web Design, Human Computer Interaction, or related discipline preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of UX best practices and the ability to empathize with users.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Good sense of visual design.
  • Ability to turn off bias and accept feedback as wireframes and prototypes evolve.
  • High-level knowledge of how front-end and/or back-end web development technologies work, specifically HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • An accessible online portfolio showcasing outstanding samples of design work.
