About the position

As a Lead Product Manager on the Account Safety team at TikTok, you will be responsible for developing innovative product solutions to enhance the safety of user accounts and mitigate risks associated with inauthentic and violative accounts. This role involves collaboration with various teams, including Engineering, Machine Learning, Policy, and Data Science, to create effective safety strategies and features. You will manage complex safety-focused projects, optimize workflows for cross-team collaboration, and ensure a cohesive approach to addressing safety risks across the platform.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of innovative product solutions to mitigate risks related to inauthentic and violative accounts.
  • Manage complex safety-focused projects independently, including defining and iterating the product roadmap, establishing clear success metrics, and collaborating across the organization to ensure timely and impactful execution.
  • Design and optimize scalable workflows to enhance cross-team collaboration, driving large-scale product improvements that significantly increase account and community safety.
  • Partner closely with issue experts, policy teams, and cross-functional partners to evaluate, prioritize, and refine initiatives, ensuring a cohesive approach to addressing safety risks across the platform.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in product management, with a strong background in account safety, fraud prevention, or related areas, including familiarity with safety models and algorithms.
  • Proven ability to design data-driven product solutions, with a demonstrated track record of launching successful products or leading organizational and process changes that drive business value.
  • Experience collaborating with international teams across different time zones and cultures, with exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong data analysis and problem-solving abilities, with the capability to assess product designs against organizational standards and business needs.

Nice-to-haves

  • In-depth understanding of industry trends and policy developments in new media, technology, and entertainment, particularly related to trust and safety.
  • Advanced technical skills in data analysis, with experience applying these skills to improve product design and outcomes.
