About the position

The Lead Product Manager - Technical at Mastercard is a pivotal role focused on developing and guiding product roadmaps that enhance the safety and security of payment transactions. This position involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into actionable product features, ensuring a seamless end-to-end customer experience. The role emphasizes strategic thinking, relationship building, and the ability to navigate complex technical environments to deliver innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop inspiring platform/product visions based on business needs, market opportunities, and technology trends.
  • Decompose business requirements and customer experiences into features and functions that drive the platform/product roadmap using the Working Backwards method.
  • Collaborate with Technical Program Managers, Developers, UX designers, and internal customers to define business requirements.
  • Collect and share user stories with engineering teams, acting as the voice of the business customer.
  • Own the working backwards document and vision for feature releases, identifying gaps and chartering new platform capabilities as needed.
  • Utilize research, user studies, metrics, and competitive analysis to inform platform product needs.
  • Make trade-off decisions on platform product features and prioritize them according to business and platform value.
  • Monitor feature development and prepare for launches, ensuring operational health for feature sets.
  • Support post-launch reviews and ensure feedback is reincorporated into the feature development process.

Requirements

  • Experience in product development or engineering.
  • Strong technical and business judgment, with the ability to read code (Java) and collaborate with technical teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to build organizational relationships and influence teams.
  • Experience with AI/ML, Distributed Systems, and Microservices is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree or MBA in a related discipline.

  • Experience with AI/ML technologies.
