About the position

The Lead Product Manager at Disney Experiences will spearhead the delivery of new resort build initiatives, including refurbishments and rebrands, aimed at enhancing guest experiences. This role requires a proactive leader with a strong product vision, responsible for overseeing critical projects such as automated room assignments and housekeeping automation. The position involves collaboration with various teams to ensure seamless execution and alignment with business goals.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage the product vision and roadmap for two distinct groups of products.
  • Provide guidance and direction to junior product managers within the Resort Technology organization.
  • Serve as a passionate advocate for the products, educating stakeholders and customers about product features and benefits.
  • Conduct market research to understand industry trends and customer needs.
  • Build short and long term budget estimates to execute on the roadmap.
  • Execute discovery work for resort builds, refurbishments, or rebrands, engaging technology teams for estimates.
  • Lead requirement-gathering, user story creation, and overall product direction with cross-functional teams.
  • Collaborate with solution architects to provide solution design and prepare technical specifications.
  • Write detailed functional specs for developers, guiding them through the product architecture.
  • Facilitate scope definition and high-level planning sessions.
  • Manage product discussions to gain alignment and prioritize with business and technology partners.
  • Define and monitor key performance metrics to track product performance and identify areas for optimization.
  • Prepare and present high-level plans and budget requirements to executives and stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and cross-functional collaborators.
  • Coordinate and communicate product releases and updates.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of related work experience as a Product Manager in a large organization.
  • Working knowledge of managing budgets, budget allocations, and forecasting.
  • Comfortable communicating with executive levels in presentations and working sessions.
  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and expertise in building product roadmaps.
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements.
  • Advanced skill in writing business, technical, and functional requirements.
  • Experience with solution design, wireframing, and creating sequence diagrams.
  • Strong technical background with the ability to lead complex initiatives.
  • Proven experience with APIs, integrations, and working with technical components.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and collaboration tools like Jira, Smartsheet, and Confluence.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Experience in the hospitality or lodging industry.
  • Familiarity with Resort Operations and Disney Vacation Club.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies.
