About the position

The Lead Product Owner - Clean Transportation at National Grid is responsible for leading a portfolio of electric vehicle (EV) products and program offerings. This role focuses on vehicle-grid integration and managed charging, ensuring that products meet customer and stakeholder requirements while aligning with the strategic objectives of the organization. The position involves market analysis, regulatory participation, cross-functional collaboration, and maintaining awareness of the EV market to support the Clean Transportation team's initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and market introduction of clean transportation products in line with National Grid's EV priorities.
  • Analyze customer insights, market trends, and regulatory environments to inform product development.
  • Develop business plans and financial models to maximize product impacts, including greenhouse gas reductions and customer benefits.
  • Participate in regulatory proceedings in Massachusetts and New York, including developing testimony and presenting to regulatory bodies.
  • Engage in industry forums to promote National Grid's priorities related to electric vehicle-grid integration and managed charging.
  • Collaborate with various functional groups to launch and scale products effectively.
  • Ensure timely, targeted, and budget-compliant delivery of products and offerings.
  • Maintain a healthy pipeline of current and future clean transportation products and offerings.
  • Stay informed about the electric vehicle and EV charging markets to advise the Clean Transportation team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) required; Master's degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of related work experience in product ownership or management.
  • Ability to synthesize diverse inputs and find practical solutions to complex issues.
  • Experience in extracting insights from diverse datasets and reports.
  • Strong organizational skills to balance competing priorities.
  • Ability to navigate uncertainty and complexity effectively.
  • Experience leading collaborative, cross-functional teams to achieve results.
  • Familiarity with developing and interpreting KPIs, financial forecasts, and business models.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in clean energy and/or clean transportation.
  • Knowledge of vehicle-grid integration and load management.
  • Familiarity with utility operations and regulation.
  • Experience analyzing large datasets.
