About the position

At OKX, we are on a mission to build a world-class smart and scalable risk service that will prevent, detect, and respond to fraud, ultimately improving business revenue, reducing user friction, and enhancing user trust. As the leader of this initiative, you will be responsible for owning and building OKX's fraud risk systems and managing the roadmap to ensure our legitimate customers have access to a wide array of crypto assets. This role encompasses the development of risk models, risk strategies, and risk platforms, as well as integration with fraud and risk vendors to enable healthy business growth and enhance the customer risk experience. You will collaborate closely with risk policy, risk analytics, operations, development partners, and compliance to define and implement effective fraud risk programs. In this position, you will drive the risk product and business of OKX to a world-class standard, aligning risk product development with business and risk strategy to balance financial losses, customer experience, and business growth. You will oversee fraud risk management across our portfolio of fiat payment products, developing and implementing risk strategies and processes to proactively prevent and detect fraud, including ACH and bank transfer fraud, account takeovers, and card transaction fraud. Your role will also involve evaluating and implementing cutting-edge fraud detection technologies and tools to enhance our fraud prevention capabilities. You will define and monitor metrics to measure the success of the product, utilizing data insights for risk product enhancement. A hands-on ability to extract and analyze data using SQL and Python is essential, as you will promote a data-driven culture within the department through value-added data analysis and timely management of information. Establishing effective cross-functional relationships with Product, Customer Service, Business Intelligence, Engineering, Marketing, and Business Development will be crucial to building and operationalizing robust risk solutions that address emerging business issues.

Responsibilities

  • Extract and analyze data using SQL and Python to support risk management initiatives.
  • Promote a data-driven culture within the department with value-added data analysis and timely management of information.
  • Establish effective cross-functional relationships with various departments to build and operationalize robust risk solutions.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, or other quantitative disciplines; Bachelor's degree with significant relevant experience will be considered.
  • Product management experience in the fraud risk space with past experience in AI and machine learning.
  • 5+ years of fraud analytics experience in financial services or FinTechs.
  • Experience with risk/data analytics, tools, and concepts, including Risk Rule Engines, Risk Modeling, and Identity Verification.
  • High proficiency in technical product, system, and implementation details; able to engage with engineering beyond just product and user experience needs.
  • Data-oriented with the ability to identify, define, track, and act upon impact metrics; experience identifying KPIs and working with engineering and analytics on instrumentation and monitoring.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams to deliver complex projects with multiple dependencies and constraints in a highly dynamic environment.
  • Ability and willingness to travel as needed.
