About the position

The Lead Production Test Engineer at Saab Inc.'s Surveillance U.S. Division will play a crucial role in leading a team of engineers and technicians in a collaborative and hands-on environment. This position focuses on developing and implementing effective testing methods for electronic products in a manufacturing setting, ensuring quality and efficiency throughout the production process. The role offers opportunities for professional growth and exposure to new technologies and testing tools.

Responsibilities

  • Lead team of Production Test Engineers and Production Test Technicians to meet business objectives.
  • Integrate, develop, and implement cost-effective methods of testing and troubleshooting systems and equipment in a production environment.
  • Prepare test and diagnostic programs, design test fixtures and equipment, and document specifications and procedures for new products.
  • Define, document, analyze, perform, and interpret developmental tests for new and/or modified products or product components.
  • Drive production testing development to take into account testability, efficiency, and quality during the requirements definition phase of a program.
  • Efficiently diagnose problem areas, identify root cause, and recommend cost-effective solutions.
  • Provide mentoring and broad technical guidance/coaching including lessons learned, viewed as an expert in the field.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or Associate's degree with significant experience) in Technical or Engineering field is required.
  • 10+ years of professional experience testing, troubleshooting, and repairing electronic products in a Manufacturing environment.
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Expertise in problem decomposition, root cause analysis, and risk analysis using common diagnostic test equipment and software tools.
  • Experience with software and hardware integration and test methodologies.
  • Experience implementing new test processes and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate across disciplines and organizations.
  • Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel.
  • Familiar with electronic assembly industry standards such as IPC610, IPC620, and J-STD-001.
