About the position

The Lead Production position at NORDAM involves supervising and coordinating the activities of assigned personnel while implementing and administering policies and procedures as delegated by management. This role is crucial in developing and providing leadership to customer-focused production teams, ensuring that the processes of Continuous Quality Improvement are institutionalized in alignment with the organization's goals and objectives. The Lead Production will study production schedules and estimate stakeholder hour requirements for job completion, overseeing department activities and revising work assignments to meet schedules and contract priorities. In this role, the Lead Production will coordinate activities and provide technical direction to personnel, interpreting company policies to stakeholders and enforcing regulations related to safety, attendance, conduct, and other plant rules. The position requires interpreting specifications, blueprints, and job orders, assigning duties accordingly, and establishing or adjusting work procedures to meet production or processing schedules. The Lead Production will also recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality, while providing guidance to teams on development, performance, and productivity issues. Additionally, the Lead Production will monitor and expedite the flow of materials within the production area, answer questions from stakeholders regarding area processes or equipment operation, and analyze and resolve work problems. This role involves conferring with other supervisors to coordinate departmental activities, maintaining time and production records, and initiating plans to motivate stakeholders to achieve work goals. The Lead Production will also notify maintenance stakeholders of equipment malfunctions and may perform other duties as required, which could include assignments in different job classifications and departments.

  • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists stakeholders in solving work problems.
  • Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
  • Maintains time and production or processing records.
  • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate stakeholders to achieve work goals.
  • Notifies maintenance stakeholders of equipment malfunctions.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Minimum High School diploma or GED.
  • 5 years of experience performing the type of work in the discipline of the work group.
  • 1 year of the required 5 years experience in training, assigning, and reviewing the work of lesser skilled stakeholders or have formal leadership assignments from another organization.
  • Proficient in the processes and procedures for the area over which supervision is exercised.
