About the position

The Lead, Program Manager at Best Buddies International is responsible for driving the organization's mission forward by engaging with communities through school and community-based Friendship Programs. This role focuses on recruiting, training, and supporting volunteer committees, building strategic community relationships, and ensuring a high-quality experience for volunteers and participants. The Program Manager plays a crucial role in fostering inclusive communities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and facilitate leadership trainings specific to volunteer roles.
  • Recruit and manage volunteer committees to implement trainings and manage chapters.
  • Evaluate and track chapter engagement in Best Buddies trainings.
  • Develop and lead community trainings to promote awareness of Best Buddies mission.
  • Ensure participation from all chapters in the Annual Best Buddies Leadership Conference and the state's Friendship Walk.
  • Oversee state citizen matches and support corporate chapters.
  • Research social media content opportunities and manage local chapter social media accounts.
  • Assist with the identification and development of fundraising opportunities and partnerships.
  • Plan and execute regional events and partnerships as directed by the State/Area Director.
  • Maintain data integrity and tracking in all systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or 3-4 years relevant experience in volunteer and committee management.
  • Experience managing and motivating volunteers.
  • Comfortable engaging with people with IDD, including youth and adults.
  • Adaptable and able to develop and balance multiple relationships.
  • Basic project and time management skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to enhance and improve processes and resolve operational issues.
  • Strong initiative and drive for results.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient use of social media and communication platforms.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness to travel frequently and work evenings and weekends as necessary.
