About the position
Firaxis Games is seeking a motivated Lead Programmer to lead our development team, focusing on Unreal Engine integration and optimization. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in software development, excellent communication skills, and a passion for mentoring others in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Consult with departments to understand project goals and requirements.
- Provide direction and advice on technical decisions, architecture, and workflow optimization for Unreal Engine integration.
- Set high standards for code quality, performance, and maintainability.
- Assist the team in resolving difficult technical issues related to Unreal Engine.
- Design and implement modifications, reorganizations, extensions, and optimizations to the existing code base.
- Maintain knowledge of the latest innovations in the industry and lead optimization across several platforms.
Requirements
- 3+ years of engineering experience using Unreal Engine.
- Some leadership capacity.
- Broad knowledge of Unreal's internals.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills.
- Highly proficient in C++ programming language.
- Comfortable with multi-threading, templates, and optimization.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Experience with multiple languages, frameworks, and tools is a plus.
- Self-motivated and passionate about games.
