About the position

The Lead Project Controls Engineer IV for the Environmental Business Line at North Wind Group is responsible for managing all Project Controls activities, including scheduling, budgeting, estimating, risk management, and reporting. This role involves directing and mentoring the project controls team, ensuring adherence to project-specific execution strategies, and acting as the primary contact for project controls on environmental projects. The position requires a strong understanding of project management principles and the ability to coordinate effectively with various stakeholders to ensure project success.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the entire spectrum of Project Controls activities for the Environmental Business Line.
  • Coordinate with Project Management on reporting and project control activities.
  • Facilitate risk assessment, mitigation, and contingency planning processes.
  • Issue necessary project reports, including progress, cost, and schedule.
  • Ensure integration between estimating, cost control, planning/scheduling, and risk management functions.
  • Oversee cost engineering activities and develop cost control systems.
  • Manage accruals and ensure they are based on the statused schedule and invoiced amounts.
  • Oversee cost estimating and forecasting activities, including periodic project re-estimates.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, including progress monitoring and schedule deviations.
  • Identify impacts and assist with project changes and contract modifications.
  • Compile necessary backup for invoicing and ensure proper handoff to Accounts Payable.
  • Oversee cash calls and forecasts to/from Finance, including revenue recognition.
  • Manage contract administration activities related to change control.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field, or 15 years of related experience in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience on environmental, remediation, and D&D projects specializing in project controls.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in cost estimates preparation and forecasting using PMI approved methods.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience with project planning, scheduling, cost control, risk analysis, and EVMS.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 scheduling software.
