About the position

The Civil Lead Project Engineer at CESO, Inc. is responsible for overseeing the design and preparation of engineering construction documentation for various projects. This role involves active participation in meetings, making recommendations based on technical knowledge, and managing junior team members. The position emphasizes collaboration, mentorship, and the application of engineering principles to deliver high-quality project outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Support civil engineers in daily planning, coordination, and completion of projects under the direction of a project manager.
  • Research design criteria based on project scope and jurisdictional requirements.
  • Perform site design construction documents including site layouts, grading, storm water, roadway, and utility layouts using Civil 3D.
  • Conduct site design calculations and analysis based on researched codes and regulations.
  • Conduct field site visits to obtain necessary data.
  • Provide thorough and accurate documentation of calculations.
  • Complete site investigation and due diligence reports.
  • Compare design options and document findings to produce detailed civil engineering studies and reports.
  • Review technical and civil engineering drawings and make revisions accordingly.
  • Recommend continuous improvement solutions for site designs.
  • Attend client meetings.
  • Be a resource for internal department managers to facilitate cost estimates and design concepts.
  • Manage junior team members by providing project direction.
  • Motivate team members through mentoring, coaching, and training.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineer Licensure (PE) is preferred
  • 4+ years of professional experience
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, AutoTurn, HydroCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to motivate and mentor a team
