About the position

The Lead Project Manager for Digital Marketing at Discover Financial Services is responsible for overseeing projects from inception to implementation, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet business needs. This role involves managing project teams, gathering business requirements, and communicating project statuses to stakeholders, all while actively managing risks and issues that may impact customers.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects from inception to implementation.
• Lead project teams to ensure timely and budget-compliant project completion.
• Gather business requirements and translate them for project teams.
• Assemble project teams and align roles and responsibilities.
• Define project metrics, track progress, and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
• Assist with business requirements analyses and manage project scopes, issues, and risks.
• Ensure change controls are executed appropriately and estimate work efforts.
• Document agendas, meeting minutes, action items, project plans, and issue logs.
• Communicate project statuses to stakeholders.
• Support planning activities for recurring Digital Organization meetings.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Arts, Information Technology, Business Administration, Management, or related field.
• 4+ years of experience in Project Management, Computer Science, Infrastructure Technology Solutions, or related experience.
• In lieu of education, 6+ years of relevant experience.

Nice-to-haves

• 6+ years of experience in Project Management, Computer Science, Digital Marketing Initiatives, or related experience.
• Experience with Agile and/or Kanban methodologies.
• PMP certification.
