About the position

The Lead Project Planning Specialist - Marine is responsible for collaborating with stakeholders, project managers, and technical experts to create and maintain project schedules. This role ensures that project goals and deliverables are accurately captured and managed to enhance on-time delivery and inform future program management decisions. The Specialist will also work with the Operations team to promote the schedule as a valuable management tool, providing quality data analysis and ensuring compliance with reporting standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of detailed schedules in Primavera P6 from cradle to completion in alignment with customer requirements.
  • Generate graphical reports using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Excel for both internal and external customers.
  • Provide consulting support to technical work scope owners by analyzing program plans to help develop proposal and preliminary schedules.
  • Act as the scheduling point of contact in audits and program reviews.
  • Participate in project meetings and schedule follow-up meetings representing both project and planning interests.
  • Evaluate project schedule and progress for validity and accuracy of project and resource requirements.
  • Provide weekly/monthly accurate and realistic assessment of project schedules, identify and report problem areas, and work with project and engineering teams to track solutions and corrective actions.
  • Constantly monitor OTD (On Time Delivery) performance and objectives per schedule and work with project team to reach project milestones successfully.
  • Create and update scheduling procedures and standard work within the operations team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or high school diploma/GED).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in project planning using logic driven scheduling software such as Primavera, MS Project or Open Plan.

Nice-to-haves

  • Hands-on experience with Primavera (P6) and/or advanced level experience with Microsoft Project.
  • Experience with analyzing schedules for quality in their construction.
  • Proficiency in efficient and effective schedule analysis.
  • Experience in Power Conversion business and knowledge of products.
  • Understanding of systems/project engineering concepts and practices.
  • Knowledge of SAP.
