About the position

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Python Developer who will be responsible for software development and ensuring the successful delivery of software projects. The ideal candidate for this role has extensive experience with Python and has worked extensively with AWS infrastructure, particularly S3. As a Lead Python Engineer, you will play a crucial role in leading a technical team, mentoring junior developers, and ensuring that projects are completed on time and to the highest standards. You will be expected to leverage your expertise in Python and AWS to design, develop, and implement software solutions that meet the needs of our clients. Your strong communication and organizational skills will be essential in coordinating with various stakeholders and ensuring that all project requirements are met. This position offers a hybrid work environment, allowing for flexibility in your work location while still being part of a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of software projects using Python.
  • Mentor and guide junior developers in best practices and coding standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
  • Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs in the software.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Manage project timelines and deliverables effectively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience in a software development role with Python.
  • Extensive experience with AWS infrastructure development, particularly S3.
  • Strong working knowledge of AWS services and architecture principles.
  • Experience leading and mentoring a technical team.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with REST APIs (1 year preferred).
  • Experience with Java (1 year preferred).
  • Ability to commute or relocate to Richmond, VA 23173.
