About the position

The Lead Python Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting a Tier 1 application used for liquidity forecasting. This role involves building the application from the ground up, including database design, Python code development, user interface development, and SQL report development. The position requires interaction with finance teams and other stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure the application meets operational needs.

Responsibilities

• Interact with finance team and PeopleSoft implementation team to collect detailed requirements.
• Design, develop, and support software solutions based on the given requirements.
• Ensure new code and existing code updates meet standard technology development practices.
• Meet automated testing requirements for the software developed.
• Facilitate reconciliation with the finance team and other developers.
• Help customers understand the results and properly use the application.
• Assist in the operational execution of software solutions to monitor and control the application.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a technical lead on a software development team.
• Hands-on experience in Python development and related technologies.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Python libraries such as Pandas and NumPy.
• Experience with testing frameworks including PyTest.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with Linux OS.
• Containerization experience using Docker is essential.
• Familiarity with SDLC and CI/CD processes.
• Experience using Git for basic commands.
• UI development experience with Angular or React is required.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with Jira.
• Basic understanding of Java.
• Experience with Excel and IDEs such as IntelliJ.
• Knowledge of various financial instruments.
