About the position

The Lead Quality Assurance Engineer plays a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and reliability of software products for a Fortune 200 company based in Cleveland, Ohio. This position is responsible for leading the development, application, and maintenance of quality standards across the firm's products. The incumbent will utilize systematic testing methodologies to oversee the creation, modification, and execution of comprehensive software test plans, automated scripts, and programs designed for rigorous testing. This role requires a deep understanding of software testing standards, policies, methodologies, tools, and processes, as well as the ability to lead cross-functional teams effectively. In this position, the Lead QA Engineer will be expected to collaborate closely with various stakeholders to ensure that quality assurance processes are integrated throughout the software development lifecycle. The role demands excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as strong written and verbal communication abilities. The Lead QA Engineer will also mentor junior team members and contribute to the continuous improvement of testing practices within the organization. This is a direct hire opportunity that requires the candidate to work onsite three days a week in Cleveland, OH.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of software test plans and automated scripts.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and methodologies throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve quality issues.
  • Mentor and guide junior QA engineers in best practices and testing methodologies.
  • Analyze test results and provide actionable insights to improve product quality.
  • Continuously improve testing processes and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or at least 12 years of experience in quality assurance engineering or software testing in lieu of a degree.
  • 6-8 years of experience in quality assurance engineering or software testing.
  • Extensive knowledge of software testing standards, policies, methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Selenium WebDriver.
  • Experience with REST-assured.
