About the position

The Lead QA Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of a large-scale financial application within an Agile environment. This position involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and implement testing strategies, automate testing processes, and drive quality assurance across the product lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in test automation and a strong coding background, contributing to the delivery of high-quality financial solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze business requirements and acceptance criteria to create comprehensive test plans and cases.
  • Develop testing strategies for new applications and features, ensuring the selection of appropriate test types, such as load and performance testing.
  • Investigate and resolve test automation issues, documenting defects with detailed reproduction steps.
  • Design and implement automated test scripts, preferably in BDD frameworks; experience with Serenity BDD is a plus.
  • Write and review automation scripts in Java, adhering to best coding practices.
  • Conduct code reviews to ensure compliance with automation frameworks and standards.
  • Collaborate closely with QA engineers and product owners to prioritize test cases and assign work within the team.
  • Manage test plans using tools like Azure DevOps and work with version control systems such as GitHub.
  • Perform various test types, including manual, integration, regression, and browser compatibility tests, with a focus on detailed reporting.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in quality assurance, ideally in a consulting or industry-specific role.
  • Strong proficiency in creating test plans, strategies, and automation scripts, with a deep understanding of test case prioritization.
  • Hands-on experience with BDD automation frameworks; proficiency in Java is required.
  • Familiarity with continuous integration tools (Azure DevOps) and source control systems (GitHub).
  • Experience with Cucumber and JavaScript for automation, and Postman for API testing.
  • Knowledge of testing methodologies and best practices for both manual and automated testing processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work directly with product owners and other stakeholders.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with API testing using tools like Postman.
  • Familiarity with managing test plans in ADO or similar platforms.
  • Consulting experience preferred, but not required.
