About the position

As a Lead QA Engineer, you will work with a team of QA engineers to develop a comprehensive product testing strategy and framework. Your role will involve defining and maintaining the automation testing approach while managing the day-to-day functions and test strategies of a product vertical. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining a test bed and respective framework for the portfolio. Collaboration with Engineering Team Leads is essential to build out Passport's test automation framework. You will also review production incidents to identify critical areas and lead efforts to resolve these incidents. Working closely with developers, support engineers, and the senior engineering team, you will design scalable testing strategies and suggest relevant testing technologies to enhance the overall functionality and efficiency of our environment. Your ultimate goal will be to ensure that all software delivered meets the highest quality standards possible.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a product testing strategy/framework and define/maintain the respective automation testing approach.
  • Manage day-to-day functions and test strategies of a product vertical.
  • Develop and maintain a test bed and respective framework for the portfolio.
  • Collaborate with Engineering Team Leads to build out Passport's test automation framework.
  • Review production incidents to identify hot areas and lead efforts to fix identified incidents.
  • Collaborate with developers, support engineers, and the senior level engineering team to design scalable testing strategies.
  • Suggest and implement relevant testing technologies within Passport's existing technical environment to drive overall improvement, functionality, and efficiency.
  • Analyze and review production incidents to identify hot areas and lead efforts to fix identified incidents.
  • Ensure all software delivered is of highest quality possible.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology, or a closely related field.
  • 5 years' experience in Software Engineering or Software Development role.
  • 3 years' experience in QA Testing, processes and reports.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and Test Driven Development.
  • Experience with Test automation as part of CI/CD.
  • Proficiency in OO programming such as Java.
  • Experience with Unit, integration, performance, and regression testing.
  • Experience with scripting/JavaScript.
