About the position

The Lead Quality Assurance Analyst will support large multi-year projects for a leading utility provider in the Pacific Northwest. This fully remote role involves key QA tasks such as test script development, defect tracking, and data quality management, ensuring the quality and functionality of complex applications. The position is a one-year renewable contract, requiring candidates to reside within the company's service territory.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, draft, and execute manual and automated application tests as assigned.
  • Review product use requirements and those defined in the System Life Cycle (SLC) for guidance on test scenarios.
  • Develop programmatic test plans, use cases, scripts, and related documentation for secure Internet/intranet applications.
  • Design, draft, and recommend tests for system integration, functional, and acceptance testing.
  • Coordinate and facilitate test environments, testers, and developers during testing phases.
  • Perform defect management including inputting defects, updating status, and producing defect reports.
  • Conduct regression testing and unit testing to verify application upgrades.
  • Read and run comparisons on sanitized test databases using XML, Oracle, or SQL.
  • Help create Test Driven Development (TDD) automated tests for production deliverables.
  • Model and document test cases using Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
  • Develop manual and automated test scripts for functional and non-functional testing.
  • Verify that requirements are clear, needed, and testable.
  • Attend project and requirement reviews and verify test scripts.
  • Review product interface specifications and help resolve requirement definition problems.
  • Interface with project personnel to verify compliance with the Quality Plan and Testing Methodology.
  • Review and recommend changes to functional requirements and testing documents.
  • Perform technical writing and facilitate project QA efforts.
  • Identify problems and track them until resolution.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and recommend mitigations.
  • Verify compliance with Agency policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship and valid U.S. Driver's License is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a closely related technical field is preferred.
  • 6+ years of QA experience with a bachelor's degree in specified fields.
  • 10+ years of QA experience without a degree or with a degree in unspecified fields.
  • 5+ years of experience leading a Quality Assurance Team.
  • Experience in test methodology design and implementation, writing test plans, test cases, and maintaining defect logs.
  • Demonstrated working-level Azure DevOps/TFS skills, including knowledge of story, epic, and hierarchy terms.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of System Life Cycle (SLC) principles.
  • Experience leading QA efforts for vendor-supplied solutions, either COTS or vendor developed.
