About the position

SimTech, Inc. is seeking a Lead Quality Engineer to join their team in Huntsville, AL. This role focuses on developing and implementing quality assurance processes for the PM Mounted Armored Vehicle Bradley Fighting Vehicle platform. The position offers opportunities for growth and professional development within a dynamic and diverse work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor Quality Assurance (QA) process sampling systems, procedures, and production methods.
  • Design or specify inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment, analyzing production processes and procedures.
  • Monitor manufacturing process, inspection, test, and shipping activities.
  • Recommend revisions of specifications and formulate QA policies and procedures, conducting training on QA concepts and tools.
  • Interface with PM, Logistics, Engineering, and Suppliers on quality-related issues.
  • Review contract data item descriptions and requirements, establishing necessary controls for compliance.
  • Create control plans that align with customer, product, regulatory, and company requirements.
  • Establish corrective actions in collaboration with design and manufacturing teams when items do not meet requirements.
  • Assist in the inspection and testing of equipment and certifications to ensure compliance with specifications and contract requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of demonstrated relevant experience in quality engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems (AS9100, ISO 9001, and government standards).
  • Lean/Six Sigma experience, including conducting or managing internal audits.
  • Experience with warehouse and manufacturing processes and procedures.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and non-destructive inspection techniques.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, data analysis, and problem-solving skills.
  • U.S. Citizenship with Active Secret Security clearance preferred.

  • Ability to maintain designated security clearance level.
