In this role, you will conduct highly complex analyses and evaluate data and reporting to deliver business insights to diverse stakeholder groups. You will be responsible for creating advanced data visualizations to assist business stakeholders and continuously improve data analytics processes. Your work will involve quantitative research support for product initiatives, where you will utilize strong data science skills to build quantitative models that support complex research tied to key Product Group initiatives. You will act as a subject matter expert (SME) for the quantitative modeling approach, collecting large amounts of data from disparate sources and transforming it into a more usable format. You will solve investment product-related problems using data-driven techniques and work with various programming languages such as R and Python. Your responsibilities will also include creating, automating, and optimizing a library of product insights reports and dashboards. You will operate as an SME in data visualization, providing both reactive and proactive consultative guidance for the Global Product Group. Leveraging your strong technical skills, you will automate existing product insights reports for Product leaders and associates across the Global Product Group. You will communicate and collaborate with both Global Business Services (GBS) and Global Product teams, ensuring that the Agile team is pursuing the Product Vision during sprints and driving the delivery of the Product Backlog. Additionally, you will provide strong transparency through regular, proactive status updates to Product Business Intelligence & Optimization leadership and business stakeholders on all active projects. You will independently lead active and assigned project work, partnering with Product Managers to establish project scope and target completion. Your role will also involve promoting best practices related to data visualization, analytical modeling, tools, consulting, and presentations, potentially developing or training others in these areas.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes strong data science skills to build quantitative models to support complex research tied to key Product Group initiatives.
  • Acts as SME for the quantitative modeling approach.
  • Collects large amounts of data from disparate sources and transforms it into a more usable format.
  • Solves investment product-related problems using data-driven techniques.
  • Works with a variety of programming languages (e.g. R, Python).
  • Presents the analysis to a cross-functional team of senior leaders in Product to help form recommendations for new product development.
  • Collaborates with a cross-functional team to develop, iterate, and socialize initiatives with firm leaders across Distribution, Investments, and other Enterprise teams.
  • Operates as a SME in data visualization, providing consultative guidance for the Global Product Group.
  • Leverages strong technical skills to automate existing product insights reports for Product leaders and associates.
  • Communicates and collaborates with both GBS and Global Product teams.
  • Drives delivery of the Product Backlog and acts as the daily 'voice of the customer'.
  • Provides strong transparency through regular, proactive status updates to leadership and stakeholders on all active projects.
  • Independently leads active and assigned project work, partnering with Product Managers to establish project scope and target completion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 8+ years of total relevant work experience.
  • Strong technical skills in SQL, R, Python, and Excel with VBA macros.
  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Qlik Sense, Microstrategy, PowerBI, and Tableau.
  • Statistical modeling coursework and training.
  • Strong interest in pursuing a career in the investment management/financial services industry.
  • A passion for innovation and customer service orientation.
  • Ability to collaborate and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in creating presentations and strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Working knowledge of Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Decision Tree, etc.
  • Prefer candidates with Quantitative Majors such as Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Science, Math, Financial Engineering, Finance, etc.
  • Data & Research experience.
  • In pursuit or plans to pursue the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification.
  • Strong desire to automate reporting.
  • Interest in Diversity and Inclusion type business resource groups.
  • Experience in creating training manuals and onboarding new associates to new tools.
  • Experience with third-party market data (Morningstar, eVestment, Strategic Insights, Lipper).
