About the position

The Radiology Technologist Lead at Memorial Hermann Health System is responsible for providing leadership and clinical expertise in the delivery and management of comprehensive patient care within the Imaging Services departments. This role involves ensuring high-quality patient care, coordinating operations, and mentoring staff while utilizing evidence-based practices. The Lead Technologist plays a crucial role in maintaining departmental standards and facilitating effective communication among medical personnel, patients, and families.

Responsibilities

  • Fulfill a leadership role and clinical expert role in Imaging Services.
  • Monitor and maintain high-quality patient care by matching patient needs with departmental resources.
  • Provide operations coordination and professional leadership within the department.
  • Hold department staff accountable for customer relations, risk reduction, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Plan, coordinate, and direct activities between diagnostic testing and nursing staff.
  • Make daily assignments for departmental personnel and evaluate departmental throughput.
  • Ensure safe care to patients and adherence to evidence-based practice procedures and standards of care.
  • Act as a liaison between departmental staff, medical personnel, patients, and family members.
  • Promote staff professional growth and development, serving as a mentor and coach.
  • Develop policies and procedures for all areas within the department.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Certified in Basic or Advanced Life Support.
  • Radiology Technologist Licensed by the Texas Medical Board (MRT) or (MRA).
  • Registered Radiology Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-R).
  • Computed Tomography (CT) Licensed by the Texas Medical Board (MRT).
  • Registered CT Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-CT).
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Registered MRI Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-MR).
  • Nuclear Medicine Licensed by the Texas Medical Board (MRT).
  • Registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-N) or Certified by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
  • Mammography Licensed by the Texas Medical Board (MRT).
  • Registered Mammography Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-M).
  • Ultrasound Registered Vascular Sonographer or equivalent certification.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in an acute hospital setting for five (5) years as an imaging tech.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in department operations.
  • Ability to lift and/or maneuver patients.
