About the position

The Lead R&D Software Engineer will be responsible for coordinating the integration and configuration of software and hardware for high-frequency tactical sonar systems. This role involves providing technical mentorship to junior engineers and collaborating with a diverse team of engineers and scientists to achieve project goals. The engineer will also develop and maintain automated software tools, troubleshoot issues, and document their work.

Responsibilities

• Lead efforts to coordinate integration and configuration of software and hardware for tactical sonar systems.
• Provide technical mentorship and supervision to junior engineers.
• Work with a cross-disciplinary team of engineers and scientists to meet project deadlines and milestones.
• Develop, configure, and maintain automated software tools for reproducibility of final products.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues in ARL developed sonar systems.
• Document and present work performed.
• Perform other related functions as assigned.

Requirements

• Experience in software and hardware integration for engineering projects.
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills in software and hardware systems.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Experience in developing automated software tools.
