About the position

The Lead Mobile Developer at Thoughtworks serves as the primary liaison for clients, ensuring successful project delivery through strategic collaboration and technical vision. This role requires a balance of high-level strategic thinking and tactical execution, guiding teams in implementing best practices and innovative solutions in mobile development.

Responsibilities

• Champion and adopt best practices like writing clean and reusable code using TDD, mobile architecture patterns, design, and pair programming.
• Oversee or participate in the entire cycle of software consulting and delivery from ideation to production.
• Aid clients in enabling a platform-appropriate, seamless, and human-centered experience for their users.
• Design solutions and choose technologies that solve clients' problems while making pragmatic tradeoffs.
• Use continuous delivery practices to improve software delivery speed.
• Work in collaborative, product-focused teams to build innovative customer experiences.
• Apply the latest technology thinking from the Technology Radar to solve client problems.
• Continue to code alongside Developers and not be post-technical in this role.
• Champion DevSecOps tools and practices to build and deploy software, advocating for a devops culture.

Requirements

• React Native development experience with UI development using mobile SDKs and UI frameworks.
• Experience leading software development teams using Agile, Lean, and/or Continuous Delivery approaches such as TDD and continuous integration.
• Ability to consider fundamental concerns affecting mobile software like vendor limitations and accessibility.
• Experience influencing others and advocating for technical excellence.
• Ability to bridge product and technology by translating business needs to software requirements.

Nice-to-haves

• Advanced Spanish skills for daily conversation.
• Working knowledge of mobile devops/pipeline tools such as fastlane and gradle.
• Interest in continuously learning and improving in areas like functional programming and modern UI patterns.
