About the position

The Lead, Real Estate Construction Manager for Nike Direct North America is responsible for overseeing the construction and development of retail stores from design through execution. This role involves managing a team of external contributors, ensuring project schedules and budgets are met, and collaborating with various internal and external stakeholders to translate innovative retail concepts into reality. The position emphasizes sustainability and requires a strong background in construction project management, particularly within the retail sector.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of external contributors from design and concept development through project execution.
  • Manage site selection and turnover negotiations with Real Estate partners.
  • Oversee budget management for the construction program, including yearly capex and OPEX.
  • Take ownership of the construction project schedule.
  • Collaborate with internal design teams and external consultants to establish deliverables and track project progress.
  • Lead contract management and documentation processes, including scope development and award management.
  • Conduct constructability reviews to ensure design efficiencies and adherence to best practices.
  • Procure long-lead and specialty items, developing RFP documents and procurement schedules.
  • Provide leadership and accountability for project budgets, contracts, and vendor partnerships.
  • Execute sustainability initiatives, including the LEED program, and ensure successful turnover to Facilities and Operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher or a combination of relevant education, experience, and training.
  • Professional accreditation(s) such as LEED AP or PMP.
  • 5+ years of experience in construction project and program management.
  • Experience in retail construction and fluency with architectural drawings and construction terminology.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Plangrid/Procore, Smartsheets, and other project management tools.
  • Supervisory experience leading consultant project teams directly.
  • Experience in scope and contract management, including bidding and negotiating with contractors and vendors.
  • Ability to build strategic department plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to track progress against organizational goals.
  • A passion for Nike and sports.
