About the position
The Lead Rigger 3 position at MEI Rigging & Crating involves overseeing all activities on assigned job sites, managing rigging crews, and ensuring operational goals are met in terms of volume, cost, quality, safety, and schedule. This role requires hands-on supervision and the ability to effectively rig using various equipment. The position emphasizes safety, training, and building strong relationships with customers and employees.
Responsibilities
- Manage all activities on the assigned job site.
- Direct and supervise rigging crews to meet operational goals.
- Develop, plan, and implement crew alignment with customer and salesmen.
- Train and instruct crews in best rigging practices and safety procedures.
- Coordinate safety training and investigate accidents or incidents.
- Document and organize all project information accurately.
- Build customer and employee relationships through effective communication.
- Work alongside field technicians in the assembly and erection of machine tools.
- Complete housekeeping duties in the project area as required.
- Perform other job responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years' proven rigging foreman experience or comparable field experience.
- Minimum 5 years' rigging experience with forklifts, skating, leveling, and anchoring of machines.
- Valid Driver's License; Class A CDL preferred.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with manufacturing rigging such as CNC machines and injection molding machines.
