About the position

The Lead Robotics Software Engineer at Anduril Industries plays a crucial role in developing advanced robotic systems for military applications. This position involves writing and maintaining core libraries for robotics platforms, owning major feature developments, and collaborating closely with hardware and manufacturing teams to ensure successful product development. The role is integral to the Vehicle Autonomy (Robotics) team, which focuses on creating innovative solutions that enhance military capabilities through cutting-edge technology.

Responsibilities

  • Write and maintain core libraries for robotics platforms.
  • Own major feature development and rollout of large features for products.
  • Work closely with hardware and manufacturing teams during product development.

Requirements

  • BS in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven understanding of data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and code optimization.
  • Experience troubleshooting and analyzing remotely deployed software systems.
  • Experience working with and testing electrical and mechanical systems.
  • 4+ years experience with C++ or Rust in a Linux development environment.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and hold a US DoD Security Clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • MS or PhD in a relevant field.
  • Experience in motion planning, perception, localization, mapping, controls, and related system performance metrics.
  • Python, Rust, and/or Go experience.
  • Experience programming for embedded and physical devices.
  • Multi-agent coordination of UAVs.
  • Experience with complex frame transformation problems.
