About the position

The Lead Robotics Software Engineer at Anduril Industries is responsible for developing and maintaining core software libraries for various robotics platforms. This role involves significant feature development, collaboration with hardware teams, and the application of advanced technologies in robotics to enhance military capabilities. The position is integral to the Vehicle Autonomy team, which focuses on creating aerial and ground-based robotic systems that leverage cutting-edge AI and autonomy technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Write and maintain core libraries for robotics platforms.
  • Own major feature development and rollout of large features for products.
  • Work closely with hardware and manufacturing teams during product development.

Requirements

  • BS in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven understanding of data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and code optimization.
  • Experience troubleshooting and analyzing remotely deployed software systems.
  • Experience working with and testing electrical and mechanical systems.
  • 5+ years experience with C++ or Rust in a Linux development environment.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and hold a US DoD Security Clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • MS or PhD in a related field.
  • Experience in motion planning, perception, localization, mapping, controls, and related system performance metrics.
  • Python, Rust, and/or Go experience.
  • Experience programming for embedded and physical devices.
  • Multi-agent coordination of UAVs.
  • Experience with complex frame transformation problems.
