About the position

The Lead Porter at AutoNation is responsible for overseeing a team of sales porters to ensure the effective sale and maintenance of vehicles and dealership property. This role involves managing the lot's organization, transporting customers, and ensuring vehicles are clean and secure, while also participating in various maintenance tasks and special projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of sales porters.
• Maintain a neat and orderly vehicle lot, moving units as directed by sales managers.
• Transport customers and dealership personnel as needed.
• Assist with customer deliveries.
• Ensure all vehicles are clean, in good repair, and secure on the lot and in the showroom.
• Properly place window stickers on newly arrived vehicles for display.
• Pick up vehicles from storage and deliver them to storage and other dealerships.
• Assist with weather-related clean-up when necessary.
• Perform building and grounds maintenance as needed.
• Complete other functions and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of basic automotive repair and maintenance.
• Ability to handle machinery safely.
• Ability to drive across surrounding states to transport vehicles.
• Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles.
• Valid state driver's license.
• Ability to operate an automobile.
• Ability to use hand and power tools.
• Ability to lead a team.
