About the position

The Lead Scrum Master at DTCC plays a crucial role in managing the scrum process within a development squad, ensuring high standards in product quality and timely delivery of projects. This position requires a deep understanding of Agile methodologies and the ability to coach teams effectively, facilitating communication and collaboration across geographically dispersed teams. The Lead Scrum Master is responsible for overseeing project management activities, release planning, and maintaining a healthy backlog, all while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and servant leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Apply Agile knowledge and expertise to maximize squad success.
  • Coach Product Owner and squad to maintain a prioritized backlog with refined user stories.
  • Balance delivery timeframes with continuous iteration to incorporate customer feedback.
  • Participate in Scrum of Scrums sessions to align priorities, dependencies, and timelines.
  • Provide role-based coaching and facilitate coaching sessions with the squad.
  • Create a safe environment for all ceremonies to encourage active participation.
  • Facilitate and mediate conflicts within the squad.
  • Ensure accurate and transparent communications to stakeholders with metrics and updates.
  • Support Product Owner on release planning and coordinate code movement between environments.
  • Manage project planning, goal setting, and resource coordination to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Build meaningful relationships with squad members and resolve issues through rapport and trust.
  • Act as a change agent and drive continuous learning and process improvements.
  • Coach the squad to provide input for decision making and identify mindset impediments.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 years of related experience.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in Agile Development, with Scrum Master (or similar) experience.
  • Previous software development lifecycle experience.
  • Scrum Master certification is a plus.

  • Experience with Agile tools and techniques.
  • Ability to coach teams towards self-sufficiency.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills.
