The Lead Scrum Master at DTCC plays a pivotal role in the development squad, ensuring the effective application of Agile methodologies to manage the scrum process across geographically dispersed teams. This position is integral to delivering high-quality products and maintaining a well-defined software development life cycle. The Lead Scrum Master is responsible for overseeing cross-functional coordination, communication, and various project management tasks, including requirements traceability, release management, test case management, and defect tracking. The role requires a comprehensive understanding of Agile tools, techniques, principles, and values, which are applied to maximize the success of the squad. In this role, the Lead Scrum Master will coach the Product Owner (PO) and the squad to maintain a healthy and prioritized backlog, ensuring that user stories are refined and ready for development. The Lead Scrum Master will also participate in Scrum of Scrums sessions to align priorities, dependencies, and timelines with other squads within the Tribe. A key aspect of this position is to create a safe environment for all ceremonies, encouraging active participation from all squad members and facilitating conflict resolution when necessary. The Lead Scrum Master will ensure transparent communication with stakeholders, providing concise metrics and updates on progress, risks, and impediments. They will support the Product Owner in release planning and coordinate the movement of code between various environments, including Development, Testing, UAT, and Production. Project management responsibilities include planning, goal setting, managing job schedules, coordinating resources, and delivering projects within budget and timeline. The Lead Scrum Master is expected to build meaningful relationships with squad members, act as a change agent, and foster a culture of continuous learning and process improvement. They will also align risk and control processes into daily responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risks effectively.
