About the position

We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Scrum Master with our industry-leading client in Charlotte, NC. The Lead Scrum Master will play a crucial role in ensuring that the Scrum Team is fully functional and productive, effectively shielding them from external interfaces that may disrupt their workflow. This position exemplifies a servant leadership style, where the Scrum Master will role model situations and behaviors for their teams, including the removal of barriers and impediments that prevent the team from completing their work. The Lead Scrum Master will also be responsible for capturing metrics to monitor the health of the team and the project, utilizing tools such as Burn-Down Charts and velocity tracking. In addition to these responsibilities, the Lead Scrum Master will mentor team members and promote Agile thinking, ensuring adherence to the Scrum process. They will facilitate estimation activities, such as story points and Planning Poker, and maintain the backlog and physical Scrum (task) board in partnership with the team and the Product Owner. Quality of artifacts is paramount, and the Lead Scrum Master will capture and track impediments, risks, and dependencies until they are resolved, ensuring that the team can focus on delivering high-quality work. This role requires a strong background in Agile frameworks and a proven track record as a Scrum Master, with a minimum of 8 years of experience in the field. The ideal candidate will also have experience with AWS and hold a Scrum Master certification (CSM).

Responsibilities

  • Ensures the Team is fully functional and productive, shielding them from external interfaces.
  • Exemplifies a servant leadership style; role models situations and behaviors for their teams.
  • Removes barriers and impediments that are preventing the team from completing work.
  • Captures metrics to monitor Team and project health (Burn-Down Chart, velocity, etc.).
  • Mentors Team members and promotes Agile thinking, ensures adherence to the process.
  • Facilitates estimation activities (story points, Planning Poker).
  • Maintains the backlog and physical Scrum (task) board in partnership with the Team and Product Owner.
  • Ensures artifact quality; captures and tracks impediments, risks, and dependencies until resolution.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience as Scrum Master
  • Extensive experience in Agile frameworks
  • AWS experience
  • Scrum Master certification (CSM)

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with GIS and ESRI
