About the position

This position is part of the Defense Security Cooperation Agency. The incumbent will be responsible for providing program management oversight, policy interpretation, technical advice, and guidance on high-priority Security Assistance (SA) programs; developing and coordinating FMS proposals and Congressional notifications; applying knowledge of command operations, national policies, and defense issues in Security Cooperation (SC) programs; and distributing tasks within the team.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a Lead Security Assistant Analyst for the Congressional Notification (CN) Team, managing Security Cooperation (SC) priorities across the DoD.
• Recommends and executes Security Assistance (SA) process improvements and monitors the implementation of SA programs within the DoD.
• Develops, promulgates, and monitors policies, procedures, and special projects to ensure SA programs operate effectively throughout the DoD.
• Provides oversight for coordination of Foreign Military Sales (FMS) sales forecasts used in policy and program decisions.
• Develops and implements policies for handling sensitive aspects of approved FMS programs.
• Communicates assignments, projects, and program issues to the team, coaching them in problem-solving methods.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
• Suitable for Federal employment, determined by a background investigation.
• May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
• One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service.

Nice-to-haves

• DoD Security Cooperation Workforce (SCW) Certification.
• At least 1 year of successful SC work experience with a performance appraisal rating of 3 or better.
• 60 hours of continuing education (CUE) every two years.
