About the position

The Lead Service Technician at RR Living is responsible for overseeing a variety of maintenance tasks to ensure the health, safety, and comfort of residents. This role includes performing make-readies, plumbing, pool maintenance, carpentry, and other maintenance tasks. The Lead Service Technician also plays a crucial role in maintaining excellent public relations and preparing for future Service Manager opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform drywall and sheet rock repairs.
  • Expedite make-ready maintenance including checking appliance operations, changing light bulbs, and repairing minor electrical problems.
  • Change a/c filters and locks, and make minor plumbing repairs.
  • Conduct carpet repairs and maintain HVAC systems, boilers, and heating units.
  • Perform pool maintenance including backwashing filters and maintaining chemical levels.
  • Carry out carpentry tasks such as repairing balconies, doors, and flooring.
  • Paint and texture walls and ceilings as needed.
  • Maintain grounds by collecting litter and clearing snow and ice from public areas.
  • Expedite service requests and maintain excellent public relations for the corporation and community.
  • Repair appliances, re-key locks, and maintain supplies inventory.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum four years' experience in general apartment maintenance.
  • Previous leadership experience in a customer service-oriented role.
  • Certification in one or more maintenance specialties such as plumbing or refrigeration.
  • HVAC and pool maintenance certifications are required.
  • Knowledge of OSHA laws and regulations.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Excellent human relation skills for team leadership and tenant interaction.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to engage and train other technicians.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with OneSite Facilities for monitoring team production.
  • Fair Housing certification prior to interaction with prospects or residents.
