About the position

The Lead Software Developer position at Lumen involves working as a full stack developer to design, develop, and implement scalable software solutions. The role focuses on automating workflows, enhancing efficiencies, and providing support to the Product team. This position requires a strong technical background and the ability to lead a team in problem analysis and solution development, while also ensuring optimal performance of systems and applications.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable and reliable automations and front-end applications using technologies such as JavaScript, PHP, HTML5, CSS3, React, REST, PowerShell, etc.
  • Maintain Linux/Unix server environment to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability.
  • Interface closely with business and technical staff during all phases of the project, including unit and system testing, integration, and UAT testing.
  • Perform data quality checks and validations, and handle data anomalies and issues.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex software application-related problems.
  • Extract, transform, and load data from various sources and formats, such as relational databases, APIs, JSON, XML, CSV, etc.
  • Manage job and project requirements to ensure projects are completed on time, in scope, within budget, with minimal defects.
  • Accountable for all aspects of testing to ensure minimal production and UAT defects are realized.
  • Translate business requirements to software specifications and requirements.
  • Provide industry knowledge, experience, and best practices to help the team stay ahead of the curve.

Requirements

  • Experience in developing and working with software technologies, such as JavaScript, PHP, HTML, CSS, GitHub, Git Bash, Oracle SQL Developer, Visual Studio Code, etc.
  • Server and Database administration experience including Linux, Unix, Redis, Oracle, and SQL.
  • Experience utilizing JIRA for feature creation and dashboard management.
  • Experience solving business problems that involve systems and process changes.
  • Experience sourcing, analyzing, and using data to solve problems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
