About the position

SAIC is seeking a Lead Software Developer to support the US Air Force Agency for Modeling and Simulation (AFMS) program. This fully remote position involves designing, developing, and testing application software while collaborating with subject matter experts to enhance electronic data processing systems. The role requires strong communication skills and a focus on meeting software standards to support the Warfighter in full-spectrum operations.

Responsibilities

• Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs application software.
• Conducts analysis and collaborates with subject matter experts in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems.
• Determines computer user needs and analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.
• Prepares operating instructions and designs and develops autonomous services, desktop applications, web applications, scripts, and utility programs.
• Ensures software standards are met.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and nine (9) years of experience, or Master's degree and seven (7) years of experience, or relevant years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• Must be a US Citizen and currently possess a Secret Clearance.
• Experience with web applications including front-end development and consuming and developing REST APIs.
• In-depth understanding of using frontend frameworks (Angular, NgRx/RxJS/Redux, TypeScript, HTML, CSS).
• Experience with server-side technologies (Node.js, Typescript, Fastify, Prisma a plus).
• Experience working with Docker, docker-compose, and cloud environments.
• Experience with SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Learning Record Stores (LRS), including work with modern learning technology protocols (SCORM, xAPI, cmi5) a plus.
