About the position

SAIC is seeking qualified Software Engineers for a remote opportunity supporting the US Air Force Agency for Modeling and Simulation (AFMS) program. This position involves designing, developing, documenting, testing, and debugging application software to support the US Air Force and Department of Defense. The role requires collaboration with subject matter experts and clear communication within teams to ensure software standards are met.

Responsibilities

• Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs application software.
• Conducts analysis and collaborates with subject matter experts in planning and design.
• Determines computer user needs and analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems.
• Prepares operating instructions and develops autonomous services, desktop applications, web applications, scripts, and utility programs.
• Ensures software standards are met.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with nine (9) years of experience or Master's degree with seven (7) years of experience in software engineering or relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• Must be a US Citizen and currently possess a Secret Clearance.
• Experience with web applications including front-end development and REST APIs.
• In-depth understanding of frontend frameworks (Angular, NgRx/RxJS/Redux, TypeScript, HTML, CSS).
• Experience with server-side technologies (Node.js, Typescript, Fastify, Prisma).
• Experience working with Docker, docker-compose, and cloud environments.
• Experience with SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL).

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Learning Record Stores (LRS).
• Familiarity with modern learning technology protocols (SCORM, xAPI, cmi5).
