About the position

SAIC is seeking a Lead Software Developer to support the US Air Force Agency for Modeling and Simulation (AFMS) program. This fully remote position involves designing, developing, and testing application software while collaborating with subject matter experts to enhance electronic data processing systems. The role requires strong communication skills and a focus on meeting software standards to deliver high-quality software solutions for the US Air Force and its mission partners.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, document, test, and debug application software.
• Conduct analysis and collaborate with subject matter experts in planning and design.
• Utilize electronic data processing systems for information storage and processing.
• Communicate clearly and concisely within team or client collaborations.
• Determine computer user needs and analyze system capabilities to resolve problems.
• Prepare operating instructions and develop autonomous services and applications.
• Ensure software standards are met.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with nine years of experience or Master's degree with seven years of experience in software development.
• Must be a US Citizen and currently possess a Secret Clearance.
• Experience with web applications and front-end development.
• Proficient in consuming and developing REST APIs.
• In-depth understanding of frontend frameworks such as Angular, NgRx/RxJS/Redux, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Experience with server-side technologies including Node.js and TypeScript.
• Familiarity with Docker, docker-compose, and cloud environments.
• Experience with SQL databases like MySQL and PostgreSQL.
• Knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Learning Record Stores (LRS), including SCORM and xAPI.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Fastify and Prisma.
• Familiarity with modern learning technology protocols such as cmi5.
