About the position

As a Lead Software Engineer - Android Developer at JPMorgan Chase, you will play a crucial role in an agile team focused on enhancing and delivering innovative technology products within the Consumer & Community Banking sector. This position involves designing, developing, and troubleshooting software solutions while ensuring high-quality production code and operational stability. You will also lead evaluation sessions with vendors and internal teams, contributing to a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Responsibilities

  • Execute creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting.
  • Develop secure high-quality production code, and review and debug code written by others.
  • Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems.
  • Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture.
  • Lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5 years applied experience.
  • Hands-on practical experience in designing and implementing Android applications using Kotlin.
  • Advanced in Java, MVVM, Dagger, RxJava, Kotlin, JUnit, Mockito, Git.
  • Proficiency in RxJava, LiveData, and Restful API integration.
  • Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods.
  • Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
  • Proficient in architectural patterns such as MVP and MVVM.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.).
  • In-depth knowledge of Android jetpack, Kotlin Coroutines.
  • Practical cloud native experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of GIT and GIT workflow.
  • Ability to guide and coach team members.
